HappyBuilding.com’s concept of simple, wireless control of energy use was originated in 1985, when Al Walker was replacing room controls that had previously failed. With his background in physics and microprocessor technology, Al knew there had to be a more effective way to control building comfort. Instead of using expensive, difficult to install telephone wires and control relays, Al utilized innovative technology to provide a simple, cost-effective solution.

Since then, Al’s unique HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning) controls have been installed in thousands of buildings across Canada, including the highly sensitive Winnipeg level 4 Virology Lab. Initially manufactured for Honeywell Canada under the Custodian and Custodian Plus product lines, our proven EasySTAT line and cost-effective wireless connectivity are now available under the HappyBuilding.com name.

Al joined with Klaus Maier to form HappyBuilding.com in 2006. As a long-time building owner himself, Klaus immediately recognized the potential of Al’s innovative technology. With Klaus as President and Al as Vice President, HappyBuilding.com offers building owners around the world the opportunity to save money, increase tenant comfort and make their buildings greener.
